AS3: Task 5: Final evaluation

Final evaluation

Our product was a brand new clothing brand named "Elite clothing", we got the name from one of our crew members Youtube channel. Our target audience was 13-23, we got this target audience from a survey we done using survey monkey. The idea behind our advert was to show our spring/summer clothing line by doing a fashion show in the park. We showed women clothing and men clothing which showed we cater to both genders.

We used a focus group and we played the final outcome of the advert and recorded their reaction to it and we asked them questions afterwards and got their feedback. We got qualitative feedback because we didn't ask many questions but the feedback we got helped a lot if we plan to do another advert in the future. The questions we asked were:

1) What did you think of the advert?

2) How was the editing?

3)Was the advert appropriate to what we were advertising?

4) What could be improved?

We chose to ask these questions because we wanted to know how the advert was and if it flowed and most importantly how could we improve it.

The focus group said that the advert was good, interesting and it flowed very well and this is the feedback we was looking for and it was good feedback. They liked the idea of the advert to show summer and spring clothing in the summer and spring environment. However they said the editing was good but it was a bit too fast paced. I wasn't surprised at the responses because they were all fair responses. I think we could of asked more questions to get more feedback because we didn't get much feedback and i think we asked the right questions just not enough.

I think the advert idea is very successful because it worked well, it was different and it went well with potential customers (Focus group). We know the idea was good because the focus group said they liked the idea a lot. to improve the advert i would put more clothing in the advert and show off more of our clothing to really show what our brand can do. I agree with all the feedback from the focus group, i also think the advert was fast paced but we had to make it fast paced to fit everything in the advert but it was only a minor problem which we can fix in the future productions.

I think the advert was good in regards to camera work however we had to re shoot a few scenes due to the actors being out of frame. I think the camera movement was very smooth especially when we we done the 360 degrees shot around the actors. I think it is very clear what the product is because we added a title before the recording which says "Elite clothing" and this should indicate what we are advertising. I think it does sell the product because the advert shows our best clothing and it really shows the potential of our brand. I think it was a very good idea because it is a good chance to really show off a little fraction of our clothing and it shows it off well.

There is one big improvement i could make to the video and that is to slow it down because the focus group said it was too fast paced and that means the viewers wont see the clothes for long which is bad because they don't get the chance to see our products.

In conclusion, I think we did achieve our aim because we got word out about our new products and brands and the focus group said they really enjoyed it. I am very proud of the final outcome of the advert because it allowed us to show that our clothing lets you be different and helps you stand out and at the end we empathise that our clothing line lets you be you. We say at the end "BE YOU" which end the advert on a high because it gets the audience thinking and it will get them to buy our product to allow them to be themselves and for them to not care what other people think about them.

AS3: Task 3: Sources of information

AS3: Task 2: Screening/Focus group

This is the video of my focus group, and me asking them 4 questions about what they thought of my final advert.

The questions i asked them were:

1) What did you think of the advert?

2) How was the editing?

3)Was the advert appropriate to what we were advertising?

4) What could be improved?

The group thought my advert was good and interesting and the editing was very good. They said the advert was appropriate for the product however they said that the advert was a bit too fast paced and they said to improve i should slow it down. They had the same opinion that the advert was good and they had the same opinion on what could be improved.

Contingency Plan
Name: Bradley Scamell

Production: Elite spring collection
Potential problems and how to overcome these problems:

  • We have come up with some back up ideas if these issues do occur- to solve this we will have to record a different day or wait for the weather to go the way we need it.
  • If any of the public do get in the way of recording we will record that scene again. We can’t do anything about this so we will just have to deal with it if it happens.
